Christmas Letters are for……

2019 @ Evergreen Reputation

I’ve often laughed at people who send round-robins or Christmas letters.

But.

I might have had a change of heart.

Maybe they aren’t about me being impressed or made jealous by the fact that someone has just bought a beautiful new home or received a promotion, or little so-and-so achieved their grade 4 swimming award, or elder so-and-so is doing ever so fantastically well at University.

Maybe these Christmas letters are for those sending the letter more than they are for those receiving them - a way for them to remember, and express their pride for, what they’ve managed to achieve over the year.

It’s not about whether I read it at all.

Therefore in 2019, with that in mind, I thought it was about time Evergreen started to record what we’ve been up to each year, even if it’s just a way for me to look back and remember what happened and no one ever reads it. Without further adieu, welcome to Evergreen’s first Christmas round-robin, and what a year it has been.

🌟 New Brand, Clear Mission 🌟

We launched a new brand and website, focused on our mission to build sustainable communities for places. A highlight of this was not only do we have a great looking new logo and brand, but it was developed working with Anna Lee who has gone on to join the team full time!

🎁 Urban Partners 🎁

We’re now in our fourth year of running the King’s Cross, Euston and St Pancras business partnership and it continues to be something we’re truly proud of. Working with some of the most well known businesses in the world, as well as local SMEs, charities and organisations, has allowed us to have a real impact on the area.

Some of the many highlights of 2019 included running a Youth Career Expo, bringing over 100 young people together with 22 notable businesses to discuss their careers and opportunities available; delivering the second UPShoots Sessions season of performances with Small Green Shoots, with our businesses providing workshops on skills to help them run a series of live musical performances in Pancras Square; managing three networking groups for employees, which included holding quarterly events, a football competition consisting of teams from businesses in the local area and a Christmas Corporate Choir Showcase, as well as two pretty epic social media competitions. Urban Partners won the Perfect Partner award at the LNER Legends Awards and were Highly Commended for our Wellbeing Walk initiative at the Camden and Islington Sustainability Awards.

I could go on, but it's fair to say that we’ve been busy! Visit the website for more!

🎄 The Stratford Summer Screen 🎄

Our work on Lendlease’s International Quarter London development in Stratford has taken on many faces in 2019, from the installation of 50,000 Christmas lights to managing street food trucks and delivering a cultural showcase with the Your Stratford Stage programme. However, a definite highlight has to have been managing the delivery of the inaugural Stratford Summer Screen.

A huge amount of work, but throughout the summer we saw over 7,500 people watch screenings of classic and contemporary films, live sport events, The Royal Opera House Summer Season, as well as premieres of new, locally-made films at community events hosted with the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and local charities. We also held three family days (featuring Aardman, Peppa Pig and Lego), 27 live music performances from talented buskers and dance classes from Swing to Ceilidh.

❄️ #LeakeStreetLive ❄️

Another highlight of 2019 has been our continued work with LCR on their Leake Street Arches development beneath Waterloo station. With London’s largest free graffiti wall as it’s USP, it’s pretty darn cool and one of the easier Instagram accounts to find content for! This year we launched the #LeaketStreetLive programme, as featured in TimeOut, with weekly free graffiti lessons and live music that has really helped to bring the Arches to life. Much more to come in 2020, stay tuned!

☃️ Wood Lane Arches ☃️

A highlight from later in the year was being appointed by Transport for London to develop and deliver a neighbourhood strategy for their Wood Lane Arches development in White City. We’re just getting going but what a hugely exciting project. I hope to be updating you with some great highlights from this in a year’s time!

✨ Team Evolution

For the first time ever, Evergreen has seen much loved members of the team move on. A huge thanks to Polly, Lize, Sev, Sophie and Virginia for everything you did for us, we wish you all the best with what you’ve gone on to do, we know you’ll be amazing. #FOREVERGREEN.

As sad as it was to say goodbye, the addition of new/returning team members has meant exciting times as well. Avigail has re-joined as Business Co-ordinator and Bianca and Anna as Account Managers, taking their places alongside the stalwarts in Michael, Ruslan and myself. Thank you team for all your work, it’s hugely appreciated by me and all our clients!

🎊 Doing the Right Thing 🎊

Despite a busy year, we’ve still managed to make time for helping others where we can. As well as being a Heart of the City member, we have continued to work with and support Orchid Project in their incredible work to end FGC globally.

We’ve also sponsored the Islington Youth Council’s election reception and two local football teams in the Hackney and Islington leagues (COME ON BOUNDARY! COME ON CLOCKTOWER!).

Thank you to everyone we’ve worked with in 2019, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Have a great festive break and we look forward to seeing you in 2020, here’s to it being a hugely successful year for everyone.

Sam and the Evergreen Team
